The mission of Friends United for HBCUs, Inc. is rooted in a deep commitment to “paying it forward” by supporting, enhancing, and promoting the academic excellence of students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Through the provision of resources, essential support services, and monetary assistance in the form of scholarships; the organization aims to ensure that students have the necessary tools and opportunities to succeed in their educational endeavors at their chosen HBCU.
By striving to fulfill the unique needs of individual students, Friends United for HBCUs, Inc. works diligently to create a nurturing and empowering environment that fosters student growth, achievement, and overall well-being.

The resources provided by Friends United for HBCUs, Inc. have served as a springboard for the advancement of numerous deserving students and have played a pivotal role in the success of university programs.
These meaningful relationships cultivated and the substantial growth witnessed have empowered us to broaden our mission to offer aid to students enrolled in any of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) within the United States.
Despite the alteration in our name, our outreach and support now extends beyond the confines of assisting students from a single institution.
This evolution reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and our dedication to enhancing the educational opportunities and experiences of students across a wide spectrum of HBCUs.

About Us
Friends United for HBCUs, Inc., previously known as Grambling Friends of Football, Inc., holds a significant position as a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2014.
Initially focused on supporting the football program and serving as a valuable resource for the entire university community, the organization underwent a transformative shift in 2024. This transition involved the inclusion of alumni from HBCUs, non-HBCU institutions, and friends to collectively bolster, enrich, and advocate for academic excellence across HBCUs nationwide.
Throughout its existence, Friends United for HBCUs, Inc. has emerged as a key proponent and benefactor of students at HBCUs. The organization recognizes the indispensable role of membership in driving its numerous accomplishments and endeavors.
Both alumni and non-alumni engagement is deeply cherished and highly valued, underscoring the collaborative spirit and unified commitment to advancing the educational and athletic pursuits of students within the HBCU community.
